et.al’s story
By Alexandra Bellamy, Founder & Creative Director
one creative practice, two different expressions.
et.al began at my own dining room table. surrounded by objects that felt conventional and uninspiring, i found myself wanting something different — a space that felt more expressive, more personal, more me.
with a background in contemporary fine art and spatial design, i've spent my career moving between independent art studios, galleries, creative practices and large architectural firms. each has offered a different way of thinking.
I've always been fascinated by the design of everyday things — how spaces, objects and stories develop character, reflect personality and shape the way we experience the world.
the name itself, et alia, means 'and others'. for me, it represents the open-ended nature of creativity: the people we collaborate with, the influences we collect and the unexpected directions an idea can take.
